Liberty, MO has a population of 32,865. The city was incorporated in 1829 making it the 2nd oldest incorporated town west of the Mississippi River. Liberty is a designated Tree City by the National Arbor Day Foundation since 2005 as well as a designated Preserve America community since 2007, receiving support from the White House for their efforts to preserve and promote America’s cultural and natural heritage.

1. Client Challenge

The City of Liberty was losing revenue due to the significantly underperforming meters that were part of the water utility’s aging infrastructure.

2. Metering Solution

To solve the problem of unaccounted water usage, Liberty spearheaded an 8-month project and turned to Envocore to install and program over 10,000 new meters. Envocore also installed radio transmitters on each new meter, upgrading the City to an Advanced Meter Infrastructure system.

3. Results

10,750 meters and transmitters were installed, allowing all water usage to be accurately recorded.
