Roswell is a city and the seat of Chaves County in the state of New Mexico. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 48,411 making it the fifth-largest city in New Mexico. The Roswell UFO incident was named after the town, and its tourist industry is based on alien-themed stores, museums, and other businesses.
1. Client Challenge
The City of Roswell was losing revenue due to significantly underperforming meters that were part of the water utility’s aging infrastructure.
2. Metering Solution
To solve the problem of unaccounted water usage, Roswell spearheaded a multi-year project and turned to an ESCO and Envocore to install and program over 18,000 new meters. As part of the program Envocore also installed new data collectors, repeaters, and antennas at strategic locations throughout Roswell.
As a result, Roswell saw $2,589,000/year in water recovery and a 155.5% savings above baseline.
