1. The Challenge:

Center Grove’s goal was clear: reduce rising energy costs and drive district facilities toward net-zero performance—producing as much energy annually as each site consumes.

• Reduce energy costs and support long-term budget stability
• Drive facilities toward net-zero energy use
• Support a goal of producing as much energy as facilities consume annually
• Enable two schools to become the first net-zero schools in Indiana
• Reduce peak demand by aligning solar production with the hottest part of the day

3. Envocore’s Solution:

Envocore delivered complete solar installations across four sites, including both rooftop and ground-mounted arrays designed to offset each facility’s energy load.

Scope included:

• Complete solar systems including modules, inverters, racking, wiring, and all balance-of-system components
• Integration into existing energy infrastructure for co-located schools and administration buildings
• A unique design powering two separate facilities from one solar array

Total Solar Installed:

• 1.59 MW rooftop solar
• 1.33 MW+ ground-mounted solar

Project Materials:

• 5,259 solar modules
• 6,245 ballast blocks (~74 tons of concrete)

Estimated Annual Production:

• 2,993,320 kWh annual energy saved across all sites
