This week the Current was in Chicago for LIGHTFAIR International 2018. Need a refresh? LIGHTFAIR is the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting tradeshow and conference, boasting over 28,000+ attendees from around the world, with over 200,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space for more than 500 of the world’s leading manufacturers.
Our Broadest Portfolio Yet
At the show, Current announced its broadest portfolio of new product releases, significantly expanding our retrofit, connected and specialized LED and controls offerings. The team showcased over 25 new products and solution enhancements at the event with 75% of the new indoor and outdoor products having digital capabilities. Derek Publicover, GM of Retail, took the stage in front of a packed house to discuss how Current’s intelligent environments could improve a multitude of business metrics from energy efficiency to employee productivity. Derek explained why so much energy is wasted in most commercial buildings today, and he showed attendees how LEDs and smart controls are an energy-saving first step toward creating a truly intelligent environment. It’s opening a new world of digital productivity applications that are providing new insights and analytical capabilities.

Current was also thrilled to bring back the Edison Awards—this year launching a new and improved format. In the spirit of the LED & Intelligent Environment solutions Current provides to customers, the program was reformatted to recognize customers who are on the journey to add intelligent environments to their LED solutions.
