Indiana Special Olympics Polar Plunge

Spring has finally sprung at Special Olympics Indiana as we dug ourselves out of the huge Polar Plunge snow bank…actually paper bank! We are now proud to announce that through eleven Plunges held in Indiana this past January and February, we raised more than $390,000 to help support our 11,000+ Special Olympics Indiana Athletes throughout the state.

This total could not have been reached without your support. Each dollar raised enabled us to raise the most money ever in our thirteen year history of conducting the Polar Plunge. Yes, 2100 plungers were most definitely “Freezin For A Reason” this year as they braved the ice, wind and cold water to provide opportunities for our athletes with intellectual disabilities to participate year-round in sports training and competition.

We encourage you to learn more about us by visiting our website at soindiana.org; becoming our friend on Facebook or by following us on Twitter. After learning more about our organization you very well might ask how you can become more involved with us, it’s very simple; come out to one of our upcoming events; become a day of the event or year-round volunteer; participate in the FedEx Plane Pull on August 25th in Indianapolis. The opportunities are endless and we would love to have you join our family.

On behalf of all Special Olympics Indiana Athletes, thank you again for your donation to the 2012 Polar Plunge.

Best Regards,

Michael Furnish
